Trend 2026: Travelling at home
Residential
ESCAPE – NATURE – COMFORT
For the past few seasons, one request has come up time and time again in our client meetings: creating a space that encourages slowing down and escaping, without ever leaving home. More than just a trend, this approach has become a new way of designing outdoor living spaces, where every element contributes to a complete experience.
At the heart of many projects, the pool has taken on a central role. It is no longer simply functional, it has become a true design feature. Custom layouts are increasingly favored, with more comfortable entry points, shallow lounging areas, and subtle details such as water features that add movement and atmosphere without overwhelming the overall design.

The surrounding environment is evolving as well. We’re seeing a shift toward more organic designs, where shapes move away from rigid lines to better follow the natural contours of the land. This approach creates spaces that feel more natural, allowing the different living areas to flow seamlessly from one to the next.

Material selections reflect this same pursuit of harmony. Palettes are soft, bright, and inviting, with textures inspired by nature. Wood, mineral surfaces, and matte finishes remain prominent, while porcelain continues to stand out. Valued for its durability and versatility, it delivers an elegant look while making everyday maintenance easier.

Greenery also plays a central role. Designs increasingly favor foliage-rich compositions, with deep tones that help define the space. Flowering varieties are used more selectively, often in neutral shades, to preserve a calm and timeless atmosphere.
At the same time, certain features enhance comfort without compromising aesthetics. Bioclimatic pergolas allow sunlight exposure to be adjusted throughout the day, while lighting is now considered from the earliest stages of the project. When thoughtfully integrated, it highlights architectural forms, guides movement, and naturally extends the use of outdoor spaces into the evening.

In conclusion
In summary, 2026 trends embrace outdoor spaces that are refined, well-defined, and easy to live in, where every detail is designed for comfort, durability, and the enjoyment of making the most of home. More than ever, outdoor living has become a natural extension of the home, designed to adapt to everyday life while offering a true space for relaxation.
